"On this EP Fahey uses heavy reverb, electric slide
and feedback to create an eerie mood." (Publicity
blurb). Fahey also uses his own voice, to create
disturbing howling or moaning sounds, quite similar to
those produced by Harvey Keitel in the movie "Bad
Lieutenant".

“During that session down in Salem, ‘Ghosts’ was
recorded. Just John, guitar and stereo pair. The other
cuts were recorded by Jeff Allman but I was given the
four tracks and allowed to go wild with the mix.
‘Garbage’ is harsh electronics which reminds me of
early Controlled Bleeding. ‘You Can’t Cool Off’ is a
distorto vocal and guitar drone which will chill your
bones. ‘Drowns Hope’ is just guitar with echo and a
light drone in the background. A departure from the
Tim/Kerr CD from earlier this year. I really like the
mix I did, since I was able to do what ever I wanted.
You might say it was my first crack as a remix
engineer.”
